Overcoming
Fear: B.o.B (2012) – “So Good”
I found this song pretty recently
because it was just released recently. I listen to this song before anything I
start getting nervous about, it lightens up the mood and after listening to it
a few times I’m not nervous anymore.
My
Future: Weezer (2005) – “Beverly Hills”
This song is one of my all time
favorites and I listen to it at least once or twice a day. It reminds me that
as long as I try in life I can achieve my goals. It is also very catchy so
that’s a plus. J
My
Dreams: Travis McCoy (2010) – “Billionaire
(feat. Bruno Mars)”
This song has similar meaning as
“Beverly Hills” but this is more about my dreams…because let’s be realistic…I
doubt I’m ever going to be a billionaire but it’s something I keep in the back
of my mind as a dream.
Life: Bowling for Soup (2006) – “High School Never
Ends”
The first time I heard this song was
when my cousin showed me the music video on his iPod when I was about 10 years
old. I didn’t really understand the song then but now it has a greater meaning.
It means that life is pretty much an endless cycle until you die…
Childhood: Chris Rice (1989) – “Cartoons”
This is the first song I remember
ever hearing. I know I heard a lot of songs before this one but this is the one
that has stuck with me. It’s kind of a childish song but it was definitely my
favorite song when I was younger.
Regret: Children 18:3 (2008) – “Homemade Valentine”
After listening to this song a lot I
realized it reminded me of the regrets I have in life. When the opportunity
presents itself I need to take it. In the song it talks about hopes and dreams
that didn’t come true and I can relate to that.
Standing
Up For What You Believe In: Eminem
(2010) – “Not Afraid”
Not being afraid to stand up for
what you believe in and standing up for yourself is what this song means to me.
I started listening to a lot of Eminem at the beginning of the school year
because it sounded pretty cool but this song was really motivational to get
stuff done and to stand up for what I believe in.
Break-up
Song: All American Rejects (2008) – “Gives
You Hell”
This is a GREAT song to listen to
after a break-up. Although I’ve only had one, it was a great song to listen to
after it. And honestly I forgot about it until I listened to this song again. J
Feel
Good Song: Flo Rida (2011) – “Good
Feeling”
Just like the name of the song,
every time I heard this song on the radio (before it was overplayed) I always
felt great no matter what mood I was in. Then it was played WAY too much on the
radio so it lost its “touch”.
Music
Freedom: No Interruption (2012) – “Hoodie
Allen”
This is a song on the first full
album I ever bought with my own money. Usually I would just convert the music
video to mp3 but I really appreciated this album (All American) so I bought it.
All the songs on this album are really motivational and fun.
My
Friends: The Lonely Island (2011) – “Jack
Sparrow (ft. Michael Bolton)”
Last summer me and my friends from
my old school hung out a lot and we decided to go to the most recent Pirates of
the Caribbean movie and I had found this song right before that and before the
movie I showed them it. It just reminds me of how much fun we used to have. It
is also a really funny song if you listen to the lyrics.
Childhood
dreams: Smash Mouth (1999) – “All Star”
When I heard this song in Shrek, I
immediately “fell in love” with it. It was catchy and at the time I was playing
soccer and I had just gone to my first concert so I kind of wanted to be a rock
star, at the time I thought it was realistic…also me and my friends can sing
this whole song together pretty good.
Childhood
memories: Simple Plan (2002) – “I’m Just
a Kid”
I didn’t find this song until I was
older but it reminds me of when I was younger. When you’re a kid you can’t
really do anything, you don’t have a car, you can’t go anywhere or do anything
without a parent…wow that sounds a lot like my life right now…so I can relate
to it right now in my life as well.
The
YouTube Life: Spose (2010) – “I’m
Awesome”
This song is similar to “I’m Just a
Kid” but more relatable to my life now. In the song it says, “I met all my
friends online…” That’s kind of how I see my future life, making videos online,
meeting people that do the same thing. Not living the norm, doing fun stuff
with no guarantee of success. Lots of risks.
Freshman
year: Good Charlotte (2002) – “The
Anthem”
Yup, I listened to this song pretty
much every day last year. It kept me motivated to keep on keeping on, no matter
how crappy that day was. It also talks about not living like other people do,
and being yourself. It’s one of my favorite all time songs.
Summer
Vacation: Nickelback (2010) – “This
Afternoon”
This song describes the last day of
8th grade, almost perfectly for me. My friend had a limo pick me and
my friends up from school and we went to his house for a pool party. That was
one of the most fun days of my life. It was just…I can’t describe how amazing
it was.
Yup this was an English assignment and I thought I'd share it...it's pretty personal...lol
